| Abstrak This study aims to determine the values and social norms that exist in the subjects of sociology in improving the character of students. The research method used is literature method whose process starts from 1) Preparing equipment such as paper and pens, 2) Collecting and compiling a working bibliography consisting of 15 literatures, 3) Collecting by reading and making research note from 15 literatures, and 4 ) Analyze data starting with selecting data, verifying sources from data, confirming data with definitions, concepts or theories about social values and norms and ending by uniting similar data that has been analyzed with the help of generalization (synthesis). The results of the character value research can be developed in the literature found in school libraries and public libraries. Found 16 Character values consisting of Religious, Honest, Tolerance, Discipline, Hard work, Creative, Independent, Democratic, Curiosity, Love homeland, Respect for communicative achievement, Happy to be friendly or proactive, Love peace, Love to read, Care for environment, Social care.
