Abstrak ABSTRACT NESSA AGNITHILDA. Maternal Parenting Patterns and the Incidence of Stunting in Toddlers in the Working Area of Talise Health Center, Valangguni Village. (Under the supervision of Herman). Department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences Public Health Study Program Faculty of Public Health Tadulako University Stunting remains a public health issue in the working area of Talise Health Center. Data from Talise Health Center indicates a rise in stunting cases over the last three years (2022, 2023, and 2024). In 2022, there were 144 stunting cases; in 2023, 166 cases; and in 2024, 185 cases. This study aims to explore maternal parenting patterns related to knowledge, attitudes, environmental conditions, exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and access to health services. This research utilized a qualitative method with a case study type (MP-ASI), with study informants included key informants, primary informants, and additional informants. The informants were chosen through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that the attitude and maternal knowledge about stunting is still lacking. The attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding indicates that toddlers receive exclusive breastfeeding from 0 to 6 months. When it comes to complementary feeding, the informants only provide porridge as MP-ASI. Health services are accessed actively, with some informants regularly taking their children to health posts, while others do not do so consistently. The environmental conditions of the informants are considered poor, as they have not fully implemented cleanliness regarding latrine hygiene and the surrounding area of the home, which remains unclean. The implications of this study provide a realistic perspective and a deeper understanding of the relationship between maternal parenting patterns and the incidence of stunting, highlighting several important advantages. Limitations of the study include time constraints and resource limitations, which may affect the depth of data collection. Keywords: Stunting, Parenting Patterns, Toddlers |
