Abstrak Exclusive breastfeeding is the practice of providing only breast milk without any additional food or drink during the first six months of an infant’s life. Pantoloan Public Health Center had the lowest exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Palu City in 2023, at 42.31%. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding behavior in the working area of Pantoloan Public Health Center. It was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was proportional stratified random sampling, with a population of 424 mothers who had babies aged >6–24 months and a sample size of 80 respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test with a significance level of p-value < 0.05. The results showed that knowledge (p- value = 0.001), attitude (p-value = 0.012), belief (p-value = 0.001), family support (p- value = 0.016), and health worker support (p-value = 0.001) were significantly associated with exclusive breastfeeding behavior in Pantoloan Public Health Center, while health facilities (p-value = 0.949) showed no significant association. In conclusion, the variables of knowledge, attitude, belief, family support, and health worker support were related to exclusive breastfeeding behavior, whereas health facility availability was not. It is recommended that healthcare workers, especially midwives and health promotion officers, be more active in providing individual counseling and home visits, particularly during the first week after childbirth.
