Hypertension is often dubbed the “silent killer” because it can strike suddenly and without warning, leading to many deaths worldwide. The widespread population in coastal areas can impact health issues, including hypertension, which is influenced by various risk factors. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with hypertension incidence among fishermen in the working area of Puskesmas Tampa Padang, Mamuju Regency. This analytical observational research utilized a cross-sectional approach involving a population of 351 fishermen, with a sample of 187 individuals selected using proportional random sampling techniques. The bivariate analysis results showed significant relationships between sodium consumption (?=0.000), stress (?=0.004), and sleep quality (?=0.014) with hypertension incidence. The conclusion indicates that sodium consumption, stress, and sleep quality are associated with hypertension in the coastal community within the working area of Puskesmas Tampa Padang. It is recommended that the coastal community reduce the risk of hypertension by lowering sodium intake, managing stress through exercise and relaxation, and improving sleep quality with regular sleep patterns and a comfortable environment. Keywords: Hypertension, Sleep Quality, Sodium, Stress.
