Abstrak Reza Fajar Kusuma.Preparedness of Regional Disaster Management Agency Officers in Facing Flood Disasters in Palu City (under the guidance of Lusia Salmawati) Department of Occupational Safety and Health Public Health Study Program Faculty of Public Health Tadulako University Official preparedness in facing disasters is defined as actions that demonstrate the effectiveness of the response to the overall occurrence of a disaster. The preparedness of officers in facing disasters is the main factor that determines the effectiveness of disaster management activities carried out. In Indonesia, flood disasters are reported to dominate natural disasters, reaching 1,288 incidents or 42.1%. The number of people who suffered as a result of the flood disaster reached 4,273,938 people with 337 of them dying. Based on the results of observations carried out by researchers by conducting interviews with one of the employees at BPBD Palu City, information was obtained that the implementation of flood disaster preparedness was not running optimally. The type of research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The informants in the research were 5 people using techniques of purposive sampling. Data management using matrix techniques. The results of the research show that the emergency planning owned by officers is systematically structured in the flood management contingency plan document. The early warning system for officers in handling floods is in the form of an emergency communication flow guide. Meanwhile, the mobilization of resources for officers shows good results, as can be seen from the participation of officers in the training and skills programs possessed by BPBD officers in managing flood disasters in Palu City.
