Abstrak NI KADEK SUTRIANI. The Relationship between Side Effects of Using a 3-month of Injectable Contraception and Menstrual Cycle Disorders in W-Pus in Tambarobone Village (Supervised by Nurhaya S. Patui). Interest Reproductive Health Study Program Faculty Public Health University Public Health Tadulako Palu The 3-month injectable contraception is a type of contraception that is given regularly, every 3 months by injection or through a medical syringe. Using the 3-month injectable contraceptive method for a long period of time is believed can cause changes in the menstrual period, where the acceptor's of menstruation becomes increasingly shorter and even no menstruation cycle accur. The changes of menstrual intervals in this case mainly caused by the gestogen component found in the DMPA. The emergence of side effects in 3-month injectable contraceptive acceptors, such as menstrual cycle disorders which often occur in the first 3 months of use. These side effects seen as one of the obvious weaknesses of using 3-month injectable contraception. The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between side effects of using the 3-month injection contraceptive method and the menstrual cycle disorders in W-PUS in Tambarobone Village. The type of research used is a quantitative research using a cross sectional approach and the population in this study was 3-month contraceptive injection acceptors in Tambarobone Village and the sampling technique used the Total Sampling method with a sample size of 69 people. The research results showed that there was a relationship between the side effects of using 3-month injectable contraception and menstrual cycle disorders in W-PUS in Tambarobone Village, with a ?-value of 0.003 < 0.05. It is hoped that Health workers in Tambarobone Village will further improve a more comprehensive health services in terms of counselling, provide continuous support and information about family planning or W-PUS acceptors so that people would understand the complex changes of using 3-month injectable contraception and find the best solution to prevent the current issues.
