Abstrak
MIFTAKHUL REZKYTA. Emergency Response of the Bangga Village Community in Sigi Regency in Facing Flood Disasters (Under the Supervisions of Herman Kurniawan) Health Promotion and Behavioral Science Concentration Public Health Study Program Faculty of Public Health Tadulako University Flooding is a natural event where an area is submerged by a large amount of water. Floods not only inundate homes and possessions but also threaten lives and human health. From 2022 to 2024, there were 58 flood disasters events in Sigi Regency, with 7 occurrences in Bangga Village. This study aims to assess the emergency response of the community in Bangga Village, Sigi Regency, in facing flood disasters. This research is a descriptive qualitative study, involving 9 informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were processed using a matrix technique. The results indicate that the knowledge of the Bangga community is a quite good. The community’s attitude towards emergency response and disaster preparedness is also positive. Available facilities include a Community Evacuation Center (PEM), assistance health centers, the SABODAM dam, early warning sirens, and evacuation routes. The role of the village/regional government, Disaster Response Groups (KTB), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and health workers are essential in encouraging the community to respond to flood disasters. It is hoped that BPBD, KTB, the village/regional government, and health workers will continue to assist in enhancing community knowledge regarding emergency response and disaster preparedness.
