Abstrak ABSTRACT DESI RAMDANI. The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Employees’ Performance at the Technical Implementation Unit of Donggala Health Center Donggala Regency Central Sulawesi Province (under the supervisions of Muhammad Ryman Napirah) Health Administration and Policy Specialization Public Health Study Program Public Health Faculty Tadulako University Palu Human resources are the primary thing in an organization. Human resources are the driving force for the running of an organization. The success of an organization is determined by the performance of employees. At the Technical Implementation Unit of Donggala Health Center Donggala Regency, employee performance has a big influence on achieving a goal because it can be seen from the jobs which cause the employees’ emotional change therefore good emotional intelligence is needed so that an organization can work well. This research aims to determine the relationship among self-awareness, self-regulation, self- motivation, empathy and social skills on the employee’ performance at the Technical Implementation Unit of Donggala Health Center, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The type of research was quantitative using a cross sectional study approach, the sampling in this research was taken through the total sampling method. Questionnaire was used in collecting data with a Likert scale and the number of samples was 84 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. Statistical test was using the chi-square test with a degree of significance ?=0.01. The results show that there is a relationship among self-awareness (p=0.028), self-regulation (p=0.031), self- motivation (p=0.011), empathy (p=0.004), and social skills (p=0.016) on the employee’ performance in Technical Implementation Unit of Donggala Health Center, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, which means that emotional intelligence affects the performance of employees at a Health Center during work. Therefore, Daniel Goleman's theory can be used as a standard in measuring the level of service in this research. |
