Abstrak Comorbidity is a condition where two diseases occur at the same time. Tuberculosis (TB) and Diabetes Mellitus (DM) are the 2 of the top 10 diseases that cause the most deaths in the world. Both have a prevalence of around 10-30% in each population. Based on WHO data, the prevalence of TB and DM is quite greater in Indonesia. According to a survey by the Health Research and Development Agency of TB-DM cases in 7 hospitals, there were estimated 740 TB cases and 110 people with DM (14.9%), confirmed the potential for comorbid events. The number of cases found in Central Sulawesi in 2022 reached 6,160 cases with the highest estimated cases in Palu city at 10,207 people with the highest prevalence cases of this comorbid disease found at Birobuli Health Center, with 15 cases. This study aims to analyze the risk factors for the incidence of both comorbid TB and DM at Birobuli Health Center, Palu. This research used a case-control research design with a purposive sampling technique, totaling 45 respondents with a ratio of 1:2 with the univariate and bivariate data analysis. The results of the statistical analysis showed that the OR values in sequence, where family history of DM = 3.755, smoking behavior = 4 and age = 15. The research shows that all risk factors have a strong relationship with the incidence of comorbid TB and DM.
