| Abstrak Stunting is a problem that often occurs, especially in developing countries, including Indonesia. Indonesia ranks 5th in the world with a stunting prevalence of 38.6%. The prevalence of stunting under five in Toribulu Sub-District in 2019 was 28.9%. The purpose of this research was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of stunting in children under five in Toribulu Sub-District, Parigi Moutong District. The research method was quantitative with a cross sectional research design. The number of samples was 270 respondents taken through Simple Random Sampling technique. The data was collected using a questionnaire, the data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge (p= 0.000) and infectious diseases (p= 0.000) with the incidence of stunting in children under five. Exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.536) is not related to the incidence of stunting in children under five in Toribulu Sub-District, Parigi Moutong District. Suggestion for the public health center is to provide education through health education to mothers about exclusive breastfeeding, maternal knowledge, and infectious diseases to prevent stunting. In addition, mothers apply a balanced nutritional diet and get proper education to improve their welfare. |
