Indonesia faces a double burden of disease, namely communicable diseases accompanied by the emergence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Changes in disease patterns occur due to changes in people's behavior, and demographic, technological, economic, and socio-cultural transitions. Diabetes mellitus is one of the non-communicable diseases which is still a health problem in Indonesia. Risk factors for NCDs and diabetes include active smoking, lack of fruit and vegetable intake, lack of physical activity, hypertension, and body mass index. This research aims o find out the relationship between physical activity, obesity, and hypertension with the incidence of diabetes mellitus in South Sulawesi Province. This research was quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample totaled IFLS 5 respondents who were interviewed based on the diagnosis of diabetes in South Sulawesi Province, totaling 1315 people and selected through a total sampling technique. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between hypertension (?=0.000) and the incidence of diabetes mellitus, while the unrelated factors are physical activity (?=0.085) and obesity (?=0.936).
