| Abstrak ABSTRAK Nurul Azhizah (O 271 18 109) The Effectiveness of Broiler Chicken (Gallus sp.) Hypophysa Flour in Artificial Feed on the Growth of Snakehead Fish (Channa striata). Supervised by Dr. Ir. Eka Rosyida M. App. Sc and Dr. Ir. Samliok Ndobe, M.Si (2022) Feed is a basic need for fish for survival. Feeding that contains additional nutrients can increase growth. One that can be used is the broiler's pituitary gland or the pituitary gland, which is a relatively small organ but has benefits for vital processes in fish. The influence of the pituitary gland in the body is caused by the work of hormones produced by the pituitary gland. This study aimed to determine the effect of feed added with hypophyseal flour of broiler chickens to the optimal growth rate of snakehead fish (Channa striata). This research was conducted for 30 days from March to April 2022, the research location is at the Laboratory of Water Quality and Aquatic Biology, Department of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Tadulako University. This research is expected to be a solution for optimizing the growth of Snakehead Fish (Channa striata) seeds. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications, namely treatment A (control), B (broiler hypophyseal flour 0.05% /g pellets), C (broiler hypophysa flour 0.10% / g pellets), treatment D (broiler hypophyse flour 0.15% /g pellets). Parameters observed were absolute weight growth, absolute length, survival and water quality. The results showed that the addition of hypophyseal broiler flour to pellet feed had a significant effect on the growth of absolute weight, absolute length, and survival of snakehead fish fry. The highest absolute weight growth was 1.54 ± 0.32 g and the highest absolute length was 1.90 ± 0.44 cm with the addition of 0.10% broiler hypophysa flour /g pellets and the survival of all treatments was 100%. The water quality range values ??are temperatures ranging from 27-30 C, pH 7.5 – 8.5 DO 6.8 - 7.2 mg/L. Keywords: Chicken pituitary, artificial feed, growth. |
