ABSTRAK Muhammad Duba (O 271 18 100) Effect of addition of cow pituitary flour in artificial feed on the growth of snakehead fish (Channa striata) fry. Supervised by Dr. Ir. Samliok Ndobe, M.Si and Dr. Ir. Eka Rosyida M. App. Sc (2022). Artificial feed for fish needs additional nutrients that are cheap and easy to obtain. These additional nutrients are in the form of supplements to increase fish growth. One of the supplements in artificial feed that can be used is cow's pituitary. The pituitary gland is an organ that is relatively small in size but has benefits for vital processes in fish. The pituitary contains hormones that promote growth. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of artificial feed (pellets) added with cow's pituitary flour on the growth and survival of snakehead fish fry. This research was conducted for 30 days in the Water Quality and Aquatic Biology laboratory, Department of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Tadulako University. The research was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) pattern consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments consisted of treatment A (artificial feed without cow's pituitary), B (artificial feed with addition of 0.05% cow's pituitary gland), C (artificial feed with addition of 0.10% cow's pituitary gland), treatment D (artificial feed with addition of cow's pituitary gland). 0.15%). The variables observed were absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, survival and water quality. The results showed that the addition of cow's pituitary flour into artificial feed had a significant effect on absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, and survival of snakehead fish fry. The addition of 0.10% cow's pituitary flour into the feed resulted in absolute weight growth reaching 2.06 g and absolute length growth reaching 2.70 cm. Survival rates of 100% were found in all treatments and water quality was still in the appropriate range for the growth of snakehead fish fry. Keywords: Cow pituitary, artificial feed, growth of snakehead fish.
