PENGARUH INTENSITAS CAHAYA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN SINTASAN IKAN NILA (Orechromis niloticus) DALAM WADAH TERKONTROL Muh Ilham Rahmansyah1, Ir. Achmad Rizal, M.App.Sc.,Ph.D2, Dr.Ir. Fadly Y. Tantu, M.Si3 Program Studi Akuakultur, Fakultas Peternakan dan Perikanan, Universitas Tadulako, Palu 94118, Indonesia E-mail : rahmansyahilhamarif@gmail.com Abstrak Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the fisheries commodities favored by the people of Indonesia in meeting their needs, tilapia has animal protein and thick meat structure, good taste. Tilapia is one type of fish that has a tolerant environment that is not good, can live and breed in brackish water and has a broad response to food (Mulyani et al, 2014). Tilapia is also known to have a fast and low survival rate compared to other freshwater fish. Some factors that can affect the life of tilapia are light. Low light intensity is a limiting factor for fish growth, because light is one of the ecological factors that have an important role in fish life. Intensity can directly affect the vision of fish in water, and indirectly affect reproduction time and growth (Lagler et al., 1977). One way that is done for farmers is that it is necessary to do environmental engineering by providing light during tilapia rearing, this is aimed at responding to fish behavior to eat feed by providing light intensity during maintenance (Susanto et al., 2013). Fish seeds used are 200 tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), measuring 5-7 cm and weighing 1.3-2 grams, obtained from the Tulo Fisheries Seed Center, Tulo Village, Dolo District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, before the fish is stocked first with the acclimatization process. This study was designed in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications so that it has 20 units of experimental units, with the following treatment: A: Maintenance without using light intensity (control), B: Maintenance using light intensity: 500 lux, C: Maintenance using light intensity: 600 lux, D: Maintenance using light intensity: 700 lux. The results showed that treatment C showed the highest absolute weight of 2.33 g and the highest absolute long growth of 2.52 cm, and the highest survival rate was in treatment C of 90% Keywords: Tilapia seeds, light intensity, growth, survival.
