Abstrak
Palu Sheep is a Central Sulawesi germplasm livestock that has been breeding and forming distinctive characteristics. One of the problems that occur in Palu Sheep is the low pregnancy rate. To overcome this condition, it needs to be stimulated by giving Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH). The basic physiological function of GnRH is to increase the fertility of female cattle. This study aims to determine the effect of GnRH induction on pregnancy rates. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Husbandry and Fishery Agribusiness Development, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Tadulako University, in South Sibalaya Village, Tanambulava District, Sigi Regency, which was held in September 2021-March 2022. The treatment in this study was (P1) GnRH 0.5 ml i.m; (P2) GnRH 1.0 ml i.m; and (P3) GnRH 1.5 ml i.m. with 5 replicates. The variables observed were Service per Conception (S/C), Conception Rate (CR), and duration of pregnancy. S/C and duration of pregnancy were analyzed using analysis of variance, while CR was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the value of S/C in treatment P2 and P3 was 1.2, lower than P1 with a value of 1.4. The CR in treatment P2 and P3 was 80% higher than treatment P1 with a CR of 60%. The average length of pregnancy in treatment P1 was 151.40 days; P2 was 153.60 days and P3 was 153.80 days, from all the variables analyzed statistically did not show a significant difference, between each treatment. The trend showed that the P2 treatment (GnRH 1.0 ml i.m) gave more effective and efficient results in terms of S/C values ??and CR percentages.
