Abstrak
This study aims to determine the effect of feeding frequency on slaughter weight and physical quality of broiler carcasses. This research has been carried out in the experimental cage of the Laboratory of Development and Agribusiness of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Tadulako University, in South Sibalaya Village, Tanambulava District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, the research was conducted on 4 February-17 March 2021. The material used 80 broilers day old chick (DOC). The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications (4 individuals in one group). The treatments were given as follows: R1 (feeding once a day at 06.00), R2 (feeding 2 times a day at 06.00 and 18.00), R3 (feeding 3 times a day at 06.00, 14.00 and 22.00), R4 (Feeding 4 times a day at 06.00, 12.00, 18.00 and 00.00). The results of the analysis of variance showed that the frequency of feeding had a very significant effect (P>0.01) on slaughter weight, carcass percentage, chest percentage, and no significant effect (P<0.05) on abdominal fat percentage. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the best result is feeding with a frequency of 4 times a day in terms of slaughter weight, carcass percentage, chest percentage but the percentage of abdominal fat gives the same results for all treatments. Keywords: Broiler, slaughter weight, frequency, carcass physical quality.
