ABSTRACT The crossing of male Balinese ducks and female Peking ducks is expected to produce superior livestock that can produce meat and eggs to meet the animal protein needs of consumers and breeders. This study aims to determine the effect of giving turmeric flour (Curcuma longa) on the reproductive performance of male Bali ducks and female Peking ducks. The research was carried out in the enclosure of the Animal Husbandry Department, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Tadulako University in South Sibalaya Village, Tanambulava District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The research was held in May - June. The materials used were 40 male Bali ducks and 16 week old female Peking ducks and turmeric flour. The research design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Each treatment was given turmeric flour with different doses, namely P0 = without turmeric flour, P1 = 1.25% giving turmeric flour, P2 = 1.50% giving turmeric flour and P3 = 1.75% giving turmeric flour. The results of this study indicated that the average laying distance of P0 (52.36), P1 (52.16), P2 (49.60) and P3 (47.80) had a very significant effect (P <0> 0.05). The average egg index P0 (74.81), P1 (74.25), P2 (73.98) and P3 (74.33) had no significant effect (P> 0.05). The initial laying rate of P0 (176.60), P1 (177.40), P2 (167.80) and P3 (163.60) had a significant effect (P <0.05). From the results of the research and discussion, it could be concluded that giving turmeric flour at a dose of 1.75% provided an acceleration at the start of spawning and shorter spawning distances. Keywords: Crisscrossing of male Balinese ducks and female Peking ducks, laying distance, egg weight, egg index, laying start, turmeric flour.
