ABSTRACT The incidence of gastritis in several areas in Indonesia is quite high with apercentage of 40.8%. The problem that most often arises in this disease is painthat will usually be felt in the pit of the stomach. The research aims to describenursing care for families having gastritis through the provision of acupressuretherapy.The research design is a case study in two families with gastritis. Thefocus of the intervention is the provision ofacupressure therapy by empoweringone of the family members (care giver) to care for family members whoexperience pain due to gastritis, mameb Ny. S and Mrs. R. The results ofa casestudy show that poimi acupressure therapy (LI 4, PC 6, PC 7, and ST 36) can treatpain from a pain scale of sir decreasing to zero, improving appetite, eliminatingnausea and vomiting, and improving sleep patterns on the sixth day. after theintervention.The level of family independence has both increased from KM II toKM III. In conclesicn, cmressure therapy with family empowerment canovercome the pain of maused and vomiting, and improve sleep quality. It is hopedthat the family will continue the acupressure therapy that is taught, and forfurther researchers to be able to develop it through quasi-experimental research. |
