Abstrak ABSTRACT MITCHEL KOLIBU. Madani Hospital Palu's Preparedness in Facing Natural Disasters (under the supervision of Lusia Salmawati). Specialization in Occupational Health and Safety Public Health Study Program, Public Health Faculty Tadulako University June 2022 Natural disasters that occur are historical records and valuable lessons. The earthquake and tsunami that rocked Palu and Donggala, Central Sulawesi on Friday, September 28, 2018 at around 17.02 WIB, was not the first time in the history of disasters in the area. The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) analysis estimates that a 7.7 magnitude earthquake (7.4 magnitude after being updated by BMKG) was triggered by the Palu-Koro fault activity. While the land area around the epicenter of the 7.4 SR earthquake, such as the Donggala district, consisted of 1,177 victims in the Palu City area, 153 in Donggala, 65 in Sigi, and 12 in Parigi Moutong. A total of 519 bodies have been buried. BNPB reported that the victim died when the building collapsed due to the earthquake and tsunami. Victims who died were identified through DVI fingerprints. The research aims to determine the preparedness of the Madani Hospital in Palu in dealing with disasters in Palu City. This was a qualitative research with a case study approach. The informants of the research consisted of key informants, namely the chief technician, regular informants, namely the Disaster team, and additional informants, namely nurses. The data were gathered through triangulation techniques, namely in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation using interview guidelines. The research results reveal that civil district hospitals already have a disaster management team organizational structure, but there is a need for an update of the team structure, the readiness of human resources already has a team but has not formed a team and a Health Assistance team, and hospital facilities and infrastructure are not sufficient for handling mass casualties. As for the communication system, the hospital already has a communication tool for delivering information. It is recommended to immediately form a new disaster management team in the form of the Hospital Disaster Management Team and disseminated to all team members including all employees of the Madani Palu Hospital.
