| Abstrak Hypertension is one of the non-communicable disease are becoming an important health problem throughout the world because of its prevalence is high and continues to increase and its relationship with cardiovascular disease, stroke, retinopathy, and kidney disease. According Riskesdas, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is 25,8% this increseased from 2018, ie 34,1%. PHC Singgani have more new cases of hypertension in the amount 0f 8.394 cases compared to other health centers in the city of Palu. The study conducted in the form of qualitative research with descriptive methods in health centers Singgani. The aim of research to study the behavior of the elderly in preventing hypertension. Data was collected by observation and interview. Informants in this study are not hytensive elderly and a key informant was the Head of health centers Singgani P2TM directly involved in the prevention of hypertension. The results showed the elderly knowledge about disease prevension hypertension attaining the level of knowledge an understanding for is factors affecting elderly people to take preventive measures in accordance with their knowledge. The attitude of the elderly look ordinary in the prevention of hypertension, seen from the attitude of the elderly who are less active in controlling health. Precautions hypertension in relatively low because the elderly only when hospitals for medical examination. |
