School age or adolescence is the period that is most likely to experience nutritional problems because that period is the transition period from adult children, due to irregular meal times, food frequency and the many types of food consumed can result in malnutrition in adolescents. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes about balanced nutrition on the nutritional status of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Palu. Methods: This study used an observational analysis research design with a cross- sectional quantitative approach. The determination of the sample based on the inclusion criteria from the researcher then used the slovin formula so that the sample obtained was 84 respondents from grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Palu. The data obtained was based on the results of the questionnaire distribution. Analysis of the data used by the spearman test. Results: The study showed that the respondents had good knowledge as much as 100% with nutritional status in the normal category as much as 52.4%. Respondents who had an attitude with an adequate category were 66.7% with nutritional status in the normal category as much as 52.4%. The results showed that knowledge was not significantly related to the nutritional status of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Palu (p=0.827) and attitudes were not significantly related to the nutritional status of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Palu (p=0.548). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes regarding balanced nutrition on the nutritional status of grade XI students at SMA Negerin 3 Palu.
