Abstrak Background: Prostate enlargement occurs in most men from middle to late age. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the term used to describe prostate enlargement at a specific age. Nearly 70% of males over 60 years old suffer from BPH. The likelihood of having BPH increases to 90% in men over the age of 80. A blood test called the neutrophil to lymphocytes ratio (NLR) can be used as a quick way to assess a typical systemic inflammatory response and forecast pathological results in different types of violent incidents. Objective: To find any link between the Neutrophilic to Lymphocyte Ratio and the occurrence of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. Method: The NLR data was taken from the medical records of the Undata Central Sulawesi Provincial Hospital in the period 2019-2022. The data was collected through total sampling and 265 data were obtained from the records of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Analytical observational statistical analysis using a spearman with a p value < 0.05 is considered significant. Result: Spearman analysis showed the results p = 0.514. Conclusion : There is no relationship between NLR and the incidence of BPH in central Sulawesi province in 2019-2022. |
