This inflammatory response can trigger the formation of fibrous tissue in the lungs, resulting in a decrease in function to lung failure. To assess lung function and fitness level, a 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) can be performed through an assessment of the distance and maximum oxygen (VO2Max). Objective: To determine the correlation between the 6MWT and physical fitness in patients 3 months post COVID-19. Methods : This type of research is descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach. The data was taken from the medical records of patients 3 months post COVID-19 who did 6MWT. The 6-minute walk distance and VO2Max data were analyzed using the Kendall correlation test which was used to assess the correlation between 6MWT and the patient's fitness level 3 months post COVID-19. Result: Most of the patients 3 months post COVID-19 who did 6MWT were in the very bad category (21 people) with mean walk distance of 356 meters. All patients 3 months post COVID-19 who did 6MWT had very poor fitness levels (29 people) with mean VO2Max value of 15.14 ml/kg/minute. The Kendall test results obtained p = 0.000. Conclusion: there is a correlation between the 6MWT and physical fitness in patients 3 months post COVID-19. Keywords: 6-Minute Walk Test, Walk distance, VO2Max, COVID-19. |
