Abstrak
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE, ECONOMIC STATUS, SMOKING HABITS, COUGHING HABITS AND PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS PATIENTS AT ANUTAPURA REGIONAL PUBLIC HOSPITAL, PALU IN 2022 Kharisma Emeliana*, M Sabir** * Medical Student at the Faculty of Medical, Tadulako University ** Lecturer at the Department of Microbiology, the Faculty of Medical, Tadulako University ABSTRACT Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a directly infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis which attacks the lungs (80%) and outside the lungs (20%) of humans. Several factors influence the transmission of pulmonary tuberculosis, including the level of knowledge, economic status, smoking habits, and coughing habits. Methods: This research used an observational research method, namely correlative analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a total sample of 60 respondents who met the criteria. The Chi-square test was used to analyze univariate and bivariate data. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and Fisher-exact-test were used as alternative tests. Results: The results of this research show that there is no relationship between the level of knowledge about tuberculosis and patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (p=0,898), there is no relationship between economic status and patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (p=0,202), there is no relationship between smoking habits and patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (p = 0,105) and there is no relationship between coughing habits and patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (p = 0,400). Conclusion: Based on the results above, this research concludes that there is no relationship between knowledge level, economic status, smoking habits, coughing habits and patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at Anutapura Regional Public Hospital, Palu in 2022.
