| Abstrak The white buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) is a wild animal which is now widely used as livestock, one of which is by the people of Tana Toraja. The aim of this research is to determine the population of white buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) and to determine the population estimate for white buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) in two research locations, namely grassland areas and secondary forest areas. The method used is the transect route method, namely using Pellet Group Counts (PGC), namely observations made to determine the population of wild animals based on the condition of their feces accumulation. The results of the research show that the population of white buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) in Batualu Village in the grassland area is 11 individuals, while in the secondary forest area the population of white buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) is 4 individuals. So, the total population of white buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) in the grassland and secondary forest areas is 15 individuals. |
