Abstrak
Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) are an essential part of forest ecosystems with high economic and ecological value. The utilization of NTFPs by communities, including vanilla farmers in Lemban Tongoa Village, is carried out to meet daily needs and support sustainable livelihoods. This study aims to identify the types and uses of NTFPs employed by vanilla farmers around their plantations The research was conducted in Lemban Tongoa Village, Palolo Subdistrict. Sigi Regency, using a qualitative descriptive method through individual interviews and field observations. The results of the study identified five types of NTFPs utilized sugar palm, bamboo, rattan, forest honey, and medicinal plants. Sugar palm is used to produce palm sugar and traditional beverages (captikus), while bamboo is utilized as material for fences and tent poles Rattan and forest honey are used for personal needs and sold outside the village, whereas medicinal plants are solely used for personal purposes. All respondents (100%) stated that the urilization of NTFPs is conducted as a side job. This NTFP utilization not only contributes to economic needs but also supports the sustainable conservation of forest resources. This study highlights the significance of NTFP utilization in supporting the livelihoods of vanilla farmers and the village community while encouraging sustainable management for the preservation of forest ecosystems.
