Abstrak
Tabebuya (Handroanthus chrysotrichus Mattos) yellow or golden trumpet tree is a type of plant that originates from Brazil and is a type of large flowering tree that looks like cherry blossoms. To produce quality seedlings, sunlight is needed, which plays a big role in plant physiological processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, growth and development, closing and opening of stomata, and plant germination, green plant metabolism, so that the availability of sunlight determines the level of plant production. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of light intensity or shade that has been provided on the growth of Tabebuya seedlings. This research was carried out for 3 months, from September to December 2023. The research location was at the BPDAS Palu-Poso Permanent Nursery, Tadulako University Palu. This research used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method, there were 4 light intensity treatments of 90%, 75%, 50% and 25%, each of the four treatments was repeated 10 times, so that the total number of seedling units needed was 4 x 10 = 40 ( forty) seedling units. Data analysis using analysis of variance F test with a level of 5% was carried out to determine whether the treatment was real or not. The results of the research showed that the light intensity treatment had a significant effect on the height growth of Tabebuya (Tabebuia aurea) seedlings, and had a very significant effect on the growth in diameter and number of leaves. Based on the BNJ test, the highest treatment was found in the treatment (90%) with high yields (33.78 ), diameter (1.95), and number of leaves (3.9).
