Birds are part of the ecosystem that plays an important role in supporting the balance of an organism's life cycle. One parameter to assess ecosystem integrity and environmental quality is the bird’s feeding guild. This study aims to identifying bird species and how bird guilds are in the Pangi Binangga Nature Reserve Area, North Parigi District, Parigi Moutong Regency, conducted from January-February 2025. This study uses the point count method, in the secondary forest habitat there are 10 observation points and along the banks of the river there are 10 observation points with a distance between one point and another of 100 m. Guild types are developed based on seven independent feeding groups (insectivore, carnivore, frugivore, granivore, nectarivore, piscivore and omnivore). The results of the study in the Pangi Binangga Nature Reserve Area found 30 species of birds from 20 families which were classified into three categories, namely nine species of endemic birds, 20 species of resident birds and one species of visitor birds, based on their conservation status there were 29 species of low-risk birds and one species of birds classified as vulnerable. The composition of bird guilds at the research location in the secondary forest habitat type and river border habitat type was quite diverse (seven types of guilds) which were dominated by insectivores, influenced by the habitat conditions that were suitable for insects to live and breed so that the insectivore guild group tended to dominate in both habitat types.
