Abstrak
The physical properties of the soil affect root growth and its ability to absorb water and nutrients, thereby influencing plant production. In relation to soil and water conservation, the physical properties of soil, especially texture and permeability, influence the rate of soil erosion. The aim of this research was to determine the physical properties under stands of teak (Tectona grandis Linn.F.) in Limboro Village, Central Banawa District, Donggala Regency. This research was conducted from May to July 2023 at 2 locations of teak stands, each 20 and 23 years old in Limboro Village, Central Banawa District, Donggala Regency. This research was conducted using a field survey method to determine the research location and proportional sampling. A plot was made at each location measuring 20 m x 20 m, containing 5 points diagonally as soil sampling points with a depth of 0 – 20 cm. There were 2 soil samples taken, namely, whole soil samples to analyze bulk density, soil permeability, soil porosity. Meanwhile, incomplete soil is used to analyze soil texture and soil color. The results of this research indicate that the physical condition of the soil at the location where teak stands are 20 years old. Permeability (0.30 cm/hour), slow. Bulk density 1.65 g/cm3 (very high), soil porosity (56.89%). Dusty clay loam texture. Soil color of plot 1 7.5 YR 3/1 (Very Dark Gray) plot 2 7.5 YR 2.5/1 (Black). Meanwhile, the teak is 23 years old. Permeability (0.21 cm/hour). Bulk density 1.21 g/cm3 (height / weight). porosity (48.78 %). Dusty clay texture. The soil color of plot 1 7.5 YR 2.5/1 (Black) and plot 2 7.5 YR 3/2 (Dark Brown).
