| Abstrak Factors that affect the success of germination are the soaking planting and the medium of germination which is the medium where the seeds may grow and develop well. This study aims to determine the influence of soaking depth, media, and the interaction of soaking depth and media on the mahagany seed germination. This study uses a Complete Random Design of Factorial Patterns with 2 factors, namely factor 1 was dept soaking: D1 = 1 cm, D2 = 2 cm, D3 = 3 cm. Then factor 2 was kinds of medium: M1 = wood charcoal and M2 = husk charcoal. There was 6 treatments combinations, each then randomized into 5 replication, the total number of seed units used was 30 seed. The observation parameters are the percentage of normal germination and the germination rate. The analysis of the test variance (F test) was used for the significant effect treatments on the observation parameter, then it was followed by the Least Significant Differences (BNT) test at 5%. The results of this study showed that the best soaking depth treatment (D2: 2 cm) with a normal germination percentage of 80%. The planting medium had no significant effect on all observation parameters. The interaction of soaking depth and medium had significant effect on the percentage of normal germination but no significant effect on the germination. The higher interaction treatment are D2M1and D1M2 with normal germination percentage of 96% and 88%. |
