Mangroves have an important role in bird life. One of the functions of mangrove forests is as a habitat for water birds and some land birds. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of bird presence, bird species diversity index, evenness index and dominance of bird species in the Mangrove Forest Area of Sausu Tambu Village, Sausu District, Parigi Moutong Regency. The method used in this study uses the Transect Path Method, which is to observe the object of research along a predetermined transect path using 2 lines where the length of the transect path is 1000 m with repetition 2 times. The distance between points is 100 m, the width of the path is 50 m (25 m to the right and 25 m to the left). Observations were made during the active period of birds, namely in the morning at 06.00-09.00 a.m while in the afternoon at 16.00-18.00 p.m. The results of research, there were 29 bird species and 21 families with the number of observations in the morning as many as 91 individuals and in the afternoon observations as many as 60 individuals. The index of bird species diversity in the morning H’=2.865 and in the afternoon H’=2.343. The presence rate of bird species encountered at 100% encounter time was 5 species : Little Egret (Egretta garsetta), Plain Wallet (Collocallia vanikorensis), Sea Robin (Gerygone sulthurea), Forest Crow (Corvus enca), Coral Egret (Egretta sacra), Cucak Kutilang (Picnonotus aurigaster), Sriganti Honeybird (Nectarinia jugularis).
