Abstrak
Soil physical properties play a role in root activity in plants, both in terms of nutrient, water, and oxygen absorption, which can hinder root movement. These properties also affect the potential for maximum soil productivity. Considering the importance of physical conditions, knowledge of soil physical conditions in 20-year-old teak stands is needed. This research was conducted in Binangga and Baliase Villages, Marawola District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, from March to May 2025. The research began with a location survey, followed by soil sampling at each location using 20 m x 20 m plots. The results showed that the soil physical conditions in Binangga Village's teak stands had a sandy clay loam texture with 44% sand, 29.55% silt, and 26.45% clay; very rapid permeability with a value of 29.5 cm/hour; high bulk density with a value of 1.265 g/cm³; poor porosity of 46.095%; and a water content of 19.19%. Meanwhile, in Baliase Village's teak stands, the soil texture was sandy clay with 66% sand, 18.9% silt, and 15.1% clay; rapid permeability with a value of 13.05 cm/hour; high bulk density with a value of 11.345 g/cm³; poor porosity of 45.945%; and a water content of 12.68%.
