| Abstrak Awar-awar plant is a medicinal plant that has many benefits and is used by thecommunity as a tradisional medicine. Central Sulawesi is one of the regions which is well-known for its potential naturalresources, including theproductionofmedicinalplantssuch asawar-awar. Thisplantbelonsto the Moroceae family and generally grows wild in vacant land. This medicinal plant is an alternative choice used by the community in treatment because its use is much safer than treatment in extreme ways such as surgery, chemotheraphy and raditaion therapy. However, in the use of these medicinal plants the community still relies on local understanding and is based on traditional passed down from generation to generation. So it is necessary to carry out scientific research that can be used as a reference and as a medium of infotmstion about the important compoundsncontained in awar-awar plants. The results of this study indicate that extracts of fruit leaves and bark of the awar-awar plant using 96% ethanol have 5 chemical campounds, namely tannins, steroids, saponins, flavonoids and terpenoids. Whereas those using N-Hexana solvents contain 2 compounds, namely terpenoids and steroids. |
