| Abstrak The purpose of this study was to test the inhibition of several concentrations of bajakah leaf extract on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria and to determine the best concentration of bajakah leaf extract to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design, which consisted of 6 treatments, namely 4 different concentrations of bajakah leaf extract. 1 positive control using 3% chloramphenicol and 1 negative control using distilled water, each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 18 experimental units. If the treatment given can inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria, and is declared to have a significant effect on the analysis of its variance, a further test will be carried out with the Least Significant Difference. The results of this study indicate that the inhibitory power of bajakah leaf extract on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria in the negative control does not have an inhibition zone, at a concentration of 25% the diameter of the inhibition zone (5.48 mm) is in the weak category, 50% (8.53 mm) is in the medium category, 75% (12.29 mm) in the strong category, 100% (10.24 mm) in the medium category and positive control (26.46 mm) in the very strong category, while the best concentration for inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria was 75% and 100%, although lower than the positive control. |
