Abstrak The most preferred habitat for canary crabs (Birgus latro) is coastal vegetation and bushes of the supralittoral area, inhabiting caves or rock holes and foraging at night. But if the environment is safe canary crabs can be seen during the day and tend to be cannibals, but often form groups consisting of several individuals in a hole. This research was conducted on Bokan Island, Kaukes Village, Bokan Islands District, Banggai Laut Regency. For 2 months, which began in November 2022 until January 2023. The implementation of this research was carried out with 2 methods, namely the double plot method, and descriptive methods for environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and crab hole diameter and hole distance from the beach. The results of the study of vegetation habitat characteristics in canary crab (Birgus latro) nests found 15 plant species. At the tree level with the highest INP is Intsiabijuga (colebr) kuntze (119%), pole level Xlocarpus granatum j. Koening (34.12%), sapling level Xlocarpus granatum j. Koening (69.96%), seedling level Sakat (48.89%). In the habitat where walnut crabs (Birgus latro) feed, 17 plant species were found. At each growth level of trees, poles, saplings, each has the highest INP. At the tree level with the highest INP is Cocos nucifera (131.51%), pole level Terminalia catappa (55.90), stake level Morinda citrifoia (63.41, seedling level Barringtonia asiatica (L) kurz (107.14). Physical habitat characteristics of temperature and humidity, air temperature is in the range of 29.2-31.2°C with an average value of 30.28 and air humidity ranges from 87-94% with an average value of 90.5.
