Abstrak ABSTRACT VICKY VENDY – L 131 18 142, Utilization of Medicinal Plants by the Kaili Ado Tribe in Pakuli Village, Gumbasa District, Sigi Regency, Supervised by Rukmi and I.Nengah Korja. Forests play a crucial role in the production of forest products, including both timber and non-timber forest products. Non-timber forest products are diverse and spread throughout Indonesian forests. Some of these non-timber forest products can be utilized as medicinal plants. Medicinal plants are particularly significant for communities, especially those living in rural areas with limited healthcare facilities. The Kaili Ado community in Pakuli Village is one such area where medicinal plants are frequently used as a solution for health issues. This study was conducted from August to October 2023 in Pakuli Village, Gumbasa District, Sigi Regency. The research employed a survey method, including interviews with community members and direct observations in the field to identify the types of plants used by the Kaili Ado community in Pakuli Village. Among the 132 households in Pakuli, only 29 households actively use plants as medicine. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The results of the study indicated that 36 types of medicinal plants from 15 families were found and utilized. The most commonly used part of the plant is the leaf, with a percentage of 48%. The most frequent method of preparation is boiling, with a percentage of 67%. The most common method of utilization is consumption, with a percentage of 72%. |
