Abstrak The mangrove forest is a typical form of tidally-affected forest found along the coast or river estuary. Numerous Rhizophora mucronata species embellish this ecosystem. One is located in Dolago Village, Parigi Moutong. Therefore, it is essential to observe the growth of Rhizophora mucronata shoots on diverse seawater and growing medium compositions. From August to November 2022, this study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial approach with two factors. The first factor is the composition of the planting medium: M1 = muddy soil, M2 = sandy soil, and M3 = muddy soil plus sandy soil (1:1) The second factor is sea water flooding: P1 = the seedbed is not inundated with seawater, and P2 = the seedbed is flooded with seawater. Each treatment was administered seven times. Therefore 42 propagules are required in total. The combination of mud-growing media and non-seawater-flooded nurseries (M1P1) resulted in the greatest increase in plant height and number of leaves, with an average height of 5.10 cm and an average number of 2.04 leaves. The combination of granular growing media and seawater-flooded nurseries (M2P2) resulted in the greatest growth and the fewest leaves, with an average height of 3.36 cm and 2 leaf strands. With an average diameter of 0.49 mm, the combination of clay growth media and non-seawater inundated seedbeds (M1P1) produced the greatest increase in diameter. The combination of sandy soil and seawater inundated seedbeds resulted in the smallest diameter growth, with an average diameter of 0.32mm. |
