| Abstrak Association refers to the interdependence among species that naturally occurs as part of ecosystem balance. Research on bird species association and distribution patterns is essential to understand ecological relationships among species and their habitat distributions. This study aimed to determine the composition, association, and distribution patterns of bird species around the Vintu River, Vintu Hamlet, Layana Indah Village, Central Sulawesi Province. The research was conducted for two months, from December 2024 to January 2025, at Vintu River, Vintu Hamlet, Layana Indah Village, Mantikulore Subdistrict, Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province. The method used was Point Count with circular plots of a 25 m radius, systematically placed along transects at intervals of 100 m, with a total of 10 observation points and three replications. The results showed 22 bird species belonging to 16 families. Association analysis revealed that all species were associated, indicating interactions among species at the study site. The distribution pattern analysis showed that nine species had a clumped distribution pattern, four species had a random distribution pattern, and nine species could not be analyzed due to low individual numbers. In conclusion, the bird community in Vintu River has diverse composition and association, dominated by a clumped distribution pattern, reflecting riverine habitat characteristics with supporting vegetation as sources of food and shelter. |
