Abstrak
Protected forest is a forest area that has the main function of protecting life support systems to regulate water systems, prevent flooding, control maintaining soil fertility (RI Law NO 41 of 1999). If the protected forest is disturbed, the forest will lose its function as a protector, prevent erosion, prevent seawater and will cause natural disasters such as floods, landslides and erosion and possibly have fatal consequences in the area. In line with this function, conditions that occur in the Protection Forest in Nupabomba Village have changed in utilization due to land use. Community activities in converting Protected Forest areas into plantation lands are one of the factors causing the decline in the main function of protected forest areas (Witno et al, 2014). Therefore the function of the protected forest in Nupabomba Village must be preserved so that the suitability of the function of the forest is maintained. This research was carried out for 3 months, from October to December 2022. It was located in Nupabomba Village, Tanantovea District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. The method used in this study is the unsupervised classification method as well as survey and overlay with a point sampling accuracy test using ArcGis 10.4 software. The results of the analysis show that the use of protected forest land in Nupabomba Village with a total area of ??1654.51 Ha, there is the widest type of land cover in forest with an area of ??1034.24 Ha (62.51%), shrubs 475.06 Ha (28.71%), open land 47.17 Ha (28.85%), mixed dryland agriculture 82.35 Ha (4.98%), settlements 15.69 Ha (0.95 %). From the results of the confusion matrix accuracy test, the results were 91.25% and the kappa accuracy test was 89.06%
