Abstrak Provision of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi is one solution that can be applied to marginal land because mycorrhizal associations allow plants to obtain water and nutrients in dry and nutrient-poor environmental conditions. Giving compost increases plant growth because compost can improve soil properties and provide nutrients to plants. This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction between arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and compost on the growth of mahogany seedlings in the former gold mine soil. This study used a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern consisting of two factors, the first factor was arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and the second factor was compost, which consisted of 8 treatment combinations, namely: M0P0=Without treatment (control) M0P1=Compost 5%, M0P2=Compost 10%, M0P3=Compost 15%, M1P0=FMA 10g, M1P1=FMA 10g+Compost 5%, M1P2=FMA 10g+Compost 10%, and M1P3=FMA 10g+Compost 15%. Each of the eight treatment combinations was repeated 5 times, so that the total required seedlings were 8 X 5 = 40 seedlings. Parameters observed were increase in height, diameter, number of leaves, and the value of stem sturdiness. The results showed that the application of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and compost had a significant effect on the growth of mahogany seedlings in former gold mines. The AMF treatment of 10 g+Compost 5% (M1P1) gave a better effect on all observation parameters compared to other treatments, namely an increase in height of 9.04 cm, an increase in diameter of 1.28 mm, an increase in the number of leaves by 17.4 and a the robustness of the rod is 5.687. |
