Avocado (Persea americana Mill) is a type of multi-purpose tree species (MPTS) that has economic and ecological benefits for the community. Avocado cultivation is often constrained by the growing media used. Chicken manure compost is an organic material that can meet the needs of plants. This study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure compost on the growth of avocado seedlings (Persea americcana Mill) in polybags. This research was conducted for three months from September to December 2021 at the Permanent Nursery of BPDASHL Palu – Poso, Tadulako University, Palu, Central Sulawesi. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of four treatments, namely D0 = without compost, D1 = 1000 g soil + 50 g compost, D2 = 1000 g soil + 100 g compost, D3 = 1000 soil g + 150 g compost, the treatments were repeated 10 times each, so that the total sample was 40 experimental units. Parameters measured were seedling diameter, seedling height and number of seedling leaves. The result showed that giving chicken manure compost had a significant effect on the growth of avocado (Persea americana Mill) seedlings aged 12 weeks after planting. Giving a dose of 150 grams/polybag of chicken manure compost was the best for the increase in height with an average value (13.74) cm, an increase in diameter with an average value (4.14) mm and an increase in the number of leaves (14.1) sheet. Keywords: Avocado, compost, Growth.
