Abstrak Biomass is biological material that comes from organisms or living things. Biomass is also defined as the total amount of living material above the surface of a tree and is expressed in units of tons of dry weight per area. The amount of biomass in a forest is the difference between production through photosynthesis and consumption through respiration. This research aims to determine the biomass of litter in stands of candlenut (Aleurites moluccana (L.) Willd) and teak (Tectona grandis L.f). This research was carried out for 3 months, namely from March to May 2024, located in Uwemanje Village, Kinovaro District, Sigi Regency. The teak and candlenut stands in Uwemanje village have a lifespan of 8-9 years for each teak plant and 7-8 years for candlenut plants. From the data obtained, the total average litter biomass in teak stands in Uwemanje village is higher with a value of 20.41 tonnes/ha, compared to the total average litter biomass in candlenut stands, which is 19.43 tonnes/ha. The decomposition process of candlenut leaves takes a long time because candlenut leaves have a wide shape and large leaf bones, which slows down the decomposition process.. |
