Abstrak Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt) is known as a spice plant that has economic value and is multipurpose. Nutmeg seeds have a hard shell so they require scarification treatment which aims to break dormancy using the hormone gibberellin, which is a hormone that accelerates seed germination, shoot buds, stem elongation, leaf growth, stimulates flowering, fruit development, and influences root growth and differentiation. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 5 treatments with 5 replications, each replication consisting of 25 seeds. namely P0 = Control, P1 = 300 ppm, P2 = 325 ppm, P3 = 350 ppm, P4 = 375 ppm. by soaking using the hormone gibberellin for 24 hours. The variables observed were Percentage of Germination and Time of Germination. Observation data were analyzed using analysis of variance. Next, an honest real difference test (BNJ) analysis was carried out at a real level of 5% to determine which treatments were significantly different. The results of the analysis of variance showed that breaking the dormancy of nutmeg seeds through soaking in several concentrations of the gibberellin hormone had a significant effect on the percentage of germination and germination time of nutmeg seeds. The soaking treatment in 325 ppm gibberellin hormone (P2) for 24 hours had the best effect on the percentage of sprouts and time to sprout compared to other treatments. Based on the results of the 5% honest significant difference (BNJ) follow-up test, it shows that the highest average percentage of sprouts was at 325 ppm (P2) at 12% and at the time of sprouting the highest average number was at a concentration of 325 ppm (P2), namely 4. 98% |
