Abstrak
Red jabon (Anthocephalus macrophyllus (Roxb.) Havil) is a superior carpentry wood species that has a narrower natural distribution when compared to white jabon (Anthocephalus cadamba (Roxb.). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of onion extract concentration and soaking time on red jabon seed germination This research was carried out from July to August 2021. Located in the Permanent Nursery of the Center for Watershed Management and Protected Forests (BPDASHL) Palu-Poso, Palu, Central Sulawesi. This study used a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) method, The first factor is the concentration of onion extract (K) K0=Control, K1=30%, K2=60% K3=90% and the second factor is soaking time (P) P1=3 hours, P2=6 hours, P3=9 hours Giving red onion extract concentration of 30?n give a tendency to increase: Percentage of germination and root length In the treatment, The concentration of the red onion extract and the immersion time as well as the interaction on all of these factors, gave no significant effect on all the observed parameters, The average percentage of red jabon seed germination was (79.80%), Hypocotyl Length (0.63 cm), Sprout height (0.91 cm), and Root length (2.07 cm).
