Abstrak
The charred bird is a megapod species that has a small body weight compared to 22 other megapod species. Based on the Convention on International Trade and Endangered Species (2021) it has not been included in the list of Appendices I, II and III, and is classified as a low risk species based on the IUCN Red List of Threatned Species (2021), but in Indonesia it is listed as a protected animal under Government Regulation No. 7 of 1999 concerning Preservation of Plant and Animal Species. The purpose of this study was to identify the bio-physical characteristics of the Philippine Gosong Bird (Megapodius cumingii) habitat in the Pasoso Island Wildlife Reserve, Donggala Regency. This research was conducted from May 2021 to July 2021. The technique of placing sample plots was using purposive sampling at locations where the Philippine charred birds were found and the data collection technique was using sample plots measuring 20 m x 20 m. This study uses the vegetation analysis method, namely the Important Value Index to determine the diversity and similarity of the composition of each vegetation calculated by the Index of Similarity. To determine the diversity of plant species, the Shanon-Wiener diversity index was used. Where the vegetation analysis in the secondary habitat type obtained 44 plant species from 18 families, in the garden habitat type obtained 50 plant species from 24 families and in the shrub habitat type obtained 4 plant species from 4 families.
