Abstrak
Forests are an important absorber of carbon dioxide (CO2). Forests that are increasingly damaged due to natural events or due to cultivation, logging and fires will increase the amount of green house gases (GHG), especially CO2 carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere and reduce the function of forests as a barrier to climate change. If forests are converted, the amount of carbon C stored will decline and turn off globally. The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of understorey biomass and carbon in natural forests, mixed / agroforestry and seasonal agricultural lands. The method used in this study is a destructive sampling method by damaging plant parts. The results showed that the largest biomass and carbon were found in natural forests, namely biomass of 0.42 tonnes / ha and carbon of 0.19 tonnes / ha, then land for agroforestry biomass was 0.17 tonnes / ha and carbon was 0.08 tonnes / ha and The least amount of biomass found in agricultural land was 1.13 tonnes / ha and carbon 0.06 tonnes / ha. Keywords: Biomassa, Carbon, Ground plants, Tambing lake, Lore Lindu National Park.
