| Abstrak Mangrove is one type of forest that has ecological, economic and social benefits, which grows among a tropical coastal community vegetation. This species is dominated by vegetation with the ability to grow in salt water. This research will be carried out for 3 months starting from October to December 2020, which is located in Mertasari Village, Parigi District, Parigi Moutong Regency. The selection of this research location is based on the consideration that Mertasari Village has a mangrove forest. The analysis used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis. The determination of respondents is done by purposive sampling, namely by determining key respondents (key informants) and non-key informants. The key respondents are people or respondents who have extensive knowledge about the interactions between local communities and forest resources in the Mangrove Forest area. The results of the study The mangrove ecosystem area in Mertasari Village is located in the coastal area. Where this area is included in the type of mangrove forest that grows along the coast, it shows that the community uses mangroves as daily fuel for cooking. Indirectly or intangible, mangroves prevent beach abrasion and break the waves. every year the community consisting of coconut milk farmer groups carry out rehabilitation and land conservation efforts in the mangrove forest of Mertasari Village, they begin to realize the importance of mangrove forests in marine coastal areas. |
