Abstrak Biomass is defined as the total amount of above-ground organic matter in trees, including leaves, twigs, branches, main stems, and bark expressed in oven-dry weight tonnes per unit area. Biomass potential estimation can be done by direct observation in the field, but if this is considered to take a long time, so another way to determine biomass can be done by remote sensing techniques. This study aims to find out how big the potential of biomass is. This research was carried out for three months from January to March 2021 in the protected forest area of Bale Village, Tanantovea District, Donggala Regency. The method used in this research is purposive sampling, allometric equations of natural forest stands, NDVI and SAVI values in Landsat 8 imagery to obtain vegetation density index data, and the results of multiple regression analysis equations to determine the effect of vegetation index on the estimation of biomass potential. Based on the research results, the regression equation value is Y=2,526+?237,157?_x1-25?.088?_x2. With the value of R Square (R2) or the coefficient of determination, it is known that the value of R Square (R2) between the independent variable X1 (NDVI) and the dependent variable Y (biomass) is 278,506.75 tons/ha, while the value of R Square (R2) is between variable X2 (SAVI) to the dependent variable Y (biomass) is 35,702.64 tons/ha, in an area of 4,736.7 ha. The biomass potential of stands in the protected forest area of Bale Village, Tanantovea District by using the vegetation index for biomass in the high density class is 1,131.87 tons/ha, the medium density class is 691.64 tons/ha and the rare density class is 405.20 tons/ha, with a total biomass of 2,228.71 tons/ha in an area of 4,736.7 ha. |
