Abstrak Sustainable forest management has been carried out by indigenous peoples since tens or even hundreds of years ago and it is still being applied today, because indigenous people understand the importance of forests as a place to make a living, as resource providers, conservation areas, water providers and other functions. The division of areas within the forest is also part of forest management by indigenous peoples.Village forests are state forests managed by villages (village institutions) and used for village welfare. Lonca Village is one of the villages located in the upstream area of Kulawi sub-district, Sigi regency. The area of Lonca village is 36 km2 with a population of 509 people. The purpose of this study is to find out how forest management efforts are based on local wisdom in Lonca Village, Kulawi District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. This research will be conducted in Lonca Village, Kulawi District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi for 2 (two) months, from March to April 2020. This research uses qualitative methods. The results showed that the Lonca village forest management was used by the surrounding community for their daily needs The people of Lonca village also still held high local wisdom in their village The people of Lonca village still maintain the preservation of their village forest by still using land management procedures according to wisdom local communities and apply customary laws.
