Abstrak In the city forest area of 65 hectares, the Palu city government is developing the Kaombona urban forest. Reffering to the area development plan, the main design is to integrate several parts into an area The function of a balancing area ecosystem conservation and a micro-climate (ecological) creator, recreational facilities, sports, and public services (economic), nurseries, research and development (educational), and the beauty of the urban landscape (aesthetic). The formulation of the problem of this research is whether visitors, UKM / PKL actors and the surrounding community know the function of the urban forest and how do the community's understanding of the benefits of the existence / existence of the Kaombona City Forest. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the community's perception of the existence of urban forests, especially in the aspects of function, utilization and management of urban forests. The research was conducted in January - March 2020, located in the City of Palu, Talise Village, Mantikulore District. Location of Kaombona City Forest. This research method is a quantitative descriptive method with 1-3-5 scaling (Likert Scale Modification). Data collection by direct, in-depth interviews and supported by other supporting data. This study’s result show that the community, visitors, and traders have a good perception of the City Forest. According to the community, the City Forest is a green open space (RTH) that can reduce the air population in cities, which can also be enjoyed as a tourist attraction and increase people's income and create jobs for people around the city forest. keywords: Perception, Community, Urban Forest |
